You don't have to "keep the symbol active." You just do what it says. As of today's fixes, it appears to be activate all 3 melee/shoot tiles in very rapid succession or no lore entry for you, which is really obnoxious for a solo mission. Preservation lore puzzle is broken I get to the puzzle room in the Preservation mission, and no matter how I enter the patterns, it just wont unlock the next piece of lore. I've seen a dozen different tutorial videos explaining how to do it, and no matter what I try it doesn't unlock any lore.
